Our working party on this last Wednesday (12th October) set themselves to dig out the path up to St Olaf’s. It’s a permissive path and so not maintained by Public Rights of Way. It has been little used recently and has become overgrown, which of course makes it even less likely to be used.
Emma, Roger and Ian cut, chopped, straightened and excavated, and came up with evidence of trolls, long suspected by those given to such suspicions of having occupied The Carrs until quite recently. (Refer to The Hobbit, chapter 2, for ethnographic information.) The evidence takes the form of what seems to be a stone toilet. Those of a more prosaic imagination may assume it to be a fragment of St Olaf’s, tossed there by vandals (or by trolls), but we shall make no definitive statements until the forensic reports are in.
